New Year’s Resolutions suck!

Don’t get me wrong, the general idea behind them is great. Anyone who commits to improving how they look and feel deserves recognition.

But January 1st doesn’t have to be your start date.

And January 9th definitely shouldn’t be when you give it up.

Real fitness isn’t a one-time resolution, it’s an ongoing commitment. If you found this video while searching for something to started during the resolution season – that’s great. Everything you’re about to learn will do that, and more.

Just make sure you keep coming back because we’re here year-round and you should be too!

Today, Blue Star Nutraceuticals Pro-Trainer and International Fitness Cover Model David Morin is going to show you how to stay lean and mean 12 months a year with one of the best fat burning workouts he knows.

Ready to give up resolutions and start getting results?

As you know, all great workouts start with a great warmup, so take 5-10 minutes to get the blood flowing with a full body dynamic warm up so you’re loose and ready to lift.

For this workout you’ll do 8 exercises in circuit fashion.

Perform each exercise for 20 seconds with 10 seconds of rest in between.

After you complete all 8 exercises take 1 minute to rest and rehydrate. Then do it all over again 4 more times for a total of 5 rounds.

The goal here is to complete the workout in 25 minutes. If you don’t hit it the first time – that’s cool – just keep pushing until you do.

Set your time. Here we go!

Exercise #1: Burpees
Jump up as high as you can, then sprawl back into pushup position on your hands, body straight like a board, hop back to your feet and explode into the air again – think speed and explosiveness with these!

Exercise #2: Cross-body Mountain Climbers
Set up in a pushup position – body straight like a board and drive your knees up to your chest one at a time, crossing your body, then back to pushup position. Alternate side-to-side every rep and fire up those abs and obliques!

Exercise #3: Pull-Ups
Jump up and grab the bar outside shoulder width, retract the shoulders and think pulling with your elbows trying to tuck them in your back pockets to engage the lats – Remember to work your back, not your biceps. If you can’t do bodyweight pull-ups for the full time, use some bands to assist you until your strong enough.

Exercise #4: Alternating Archer Push-Ups
Set up in a pushup position – body straight like a board with your arms spread about double shoulder-width. Lower over to your right side so your body is just inside your right hand and your left arm is extended straight then press yourself up and lower to the left side. Alternate back and forth for the full 20 seconds aiming for as many reps as possible.

Exercise #5: Kettlebell Sumo Squat
Set up with a kettlebell between your legs, feet just outside shoulder width. Squat down, keeping chest up and back straight, grab the bell with both hands and drive your heels through the floor raising to the top, lower under control and repeat.

Exercise #6: Kettlebell Swing
Use your hip drive to swing the weight, not your arms – your arms are just along for the ride. Be powerful with these aiming to raise the weight to shoulder height. Keep it moving for the full 20 seconds.

Exercise #7: Med Ball Slam
Just pick the ball up overhead and slam it down as hard as you can using head-to-toe power and momentum! 20 seconds as many reps as possible!

Exercise #8: Split Squat Jump
Finally, we’ll finish off torching the legs. Setup in a lunge position, hold a dumbbell or plate to your chest, keep your core braced and chest up, drive your front heel through the floor and explode up into the air, switch legs mid-air and cushion the landing then repeat alternating side to side.

Kiss your abandoned New Year’s Resolutions goodbye by adding this workout into your regular routine 3 times a week in place of traditional cardio.

This isn’t just the beginning of a new year, it’s the beginning of a new life.
